In March 2011 HGS will start with the replacement of the slew bearings, auxiliary and topping winches and the tugger HPU in Tampico, Mexico. Due to the current condition of the 225mt Offshore Mast Crane onboard the Semi 2 a large update and overhaul is needed. The jib, masthead and slewing platform will be removed from the crane. The jib will be blasted and repaired by our Client Mantenimiento Marino de Mexico under supervision of Huisman. Huisman will replace the slew bearings by removing the slew platform of the mast and exchanging this on the quay. When the slew platform is on the quay, the tugger HPU will be replaced by a brand new HPU, which is built at HK.
In the winch room all hydraulic and electrical lines will be replaced. To replace the auxiliary and topping winch a hole will be cut at the location of the pedestal entrance door.
