In order to provide reliable solutions for subsea installation in increasingly deeper water and offshore construction in severe weather conditions, Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling, and subsea solutions, introduces a new patented crane type during this year’s OTC: the ‘Rope Luffing Knuckle Boom Crane’. These new active heave compensated (AHC) cranes provide unparalleled performance by combining the benefits of a normal Rope Luffing Crane and a traditional Knuckle Boom Crane. As such it offers a high lifting height and a large capacity at outreach. The main hoist system, the patented anti-twist device, and the electric drive system really set these cranes apart from other cranes in the market. The capacities of the new cranes range from 400 up to 1,200 ton and up to 5,000 meter water depth. The first crane of this type, a 900 ton Rope Luffing Knuckle Boom Crane for Subsea 7’s ‘Seven Arctic’, is scheduled for delivery in 2016. A model of this vessel including the crane will be presented at the OTC Huisman booth, no. 2327.

Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has received a Letter of Intent for the delivery of the world’s largest cranes onboard Heerema’s planned new semi-submersible crane vessel. The cranes will have a lifting capacity of 10.000mt at a radius of 48m. Huisman is known for its signature mast crane design. These cranes will however be tub mounted. The two cranes will be built by the Huisman production facility in China. The final decision to build this new semi-submersible crane vessel will be made by Heerema before the end of this year.

On Tuesday morning 11 March, it was announced that Huisman
is nominated for the prestigious King Willem I Award. The Secretary of the King Willem I Foundation, Drs. Gert van der Houwen, personally handed over the nomination to CEO Joop Roodenburg at Huisman Schiedam. Huisman has been nominated in the category “large company” together with another two companies.

31 January 2014: Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, currently has five new built pipelay systems out on the quayside of their production facility in Schiedam, The Netherlands. These “high five” showcase the latest in pipelay technology and underline the added value of the new production hall for Huisman Schiedam. This 66m high production hall offers the largest indoor lifting capacity in Europe (1,200mt), allowing for the simultaneous indoor assembly, including testing and commissioning, of several products and systems. This allows for fast installation, commissioning and testing onboard.

Yesterday, the installation of the 3,000mt Offshore Mast Crane onboard the ‘Lewek Constellation’ was completed by means of Huisman China’s new 2,400mt quayside crane. The quayside crane, also known as the ‘Skyhook’, installed the 3,000mt Offshore Mast Crane in a mere two lifts within a three day period. The vessel will leave Huisman China in April and is due to arrive at Huisman Schiedam mid 2014 for the installation of the 800mt Multi-lay Pipelay Tower. The ‘Skyhook’ further enables Huisman China to install, commission and test large pieces of equipment on a turn-key basis, mitigating project risks.

The “Noble Bully I” was awarded by Shell with this year’s Global Floating Rig of the Year award, recognizing her as the best performing floating rig for Shell worldwide in 2013.The “Noble Bully I” is the first drillship featuring the Huisman Dual Multi Purpose Tower. Huisman was awarded with the contract for the drilling tower, related pipe, riser and BOP handling equipment onboard “Noble Bully I” in 2007.

Huisman, the specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions welcomed Subsea 7’s Seven Waves at the Huisman Schiedam quayside. The vessel, built by IHC Offshore & Marine in Krimpen aan den IJssel, will be equipped with a 550mt Flex-lay system and a 400mt Offshore Mast Crane.

Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has secured a new contract from Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. for the delivery of a Well Intervention System onboard Helix’s new build Semi submersible “Q7000”. The system, which is based on Huisman’s proven Multi Purpose Tower (MPT) design, will be built by the Huisman production facility in China.

Schiedam, 25 September 2013: Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has received a first order for their new production facility in Brazil. The new order includes three sets of five cranes, which will be manufactured as soon as construction of the Brazilian production facility is completed in 2014. The sets of cranes are scheduled for delivery between Q3 2015 and Q1 2017.

Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has secured a new contract for the delivery of a 1,500mt @ 32m Leg Encircling Crane, the largest of its kind, for Seajacks new offshore wind farm installation vessel “Scylla”.

solutions, has recently opened up a new office in Bergen, Norway: Huisman Norge AS. The new representational office is a 100% subsidiary of Huisman and is set up to meet the increasing demand within the Norwegian offshore market. This is the first Huisman office in Scandinavia.

Schiedam, 12 August 2013: Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has secured new contracts for 10 pipelay systems with various major offshore pipelay contractors. The new contracts include three 550mt Tiltable Lay Systems (TLS) and one 325mt Vertical Lay System (VLS) for Subsea 7, two 650mt TLS and two 340mt VLS for Technip-DOF, one 275mt VLS and one 570mt Multi-lay System for Ceona. The equipment will be built at the various Huisman production facilities in The Netherlands, Czech Republic, China and Brazil. Delivery of these pipelay systems is scheduled between the end of this year and early 2017.

As of Friday 2 August 2013, the contact numbers for the Huisman and Huisman Global Services companies based in The Netherlands will change.

25 June 2013: Today, Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, opened the new 380m long quayside at their production facility in Zhangzhou (Fujian), China. Huisman China, a 100% subsidiary of Huisman, has been fully operational since April 2007 and delivers a significant contribution to the overall Huisman engineering and production capacity ever since. The new quayside features a Huisman designed and produced 2,400mt travelling quayside crane which, together with the strong quay structure and the direct deep water access, makes Huisman China well suited for loading and installation of heavy steel constructions onboard large (offshore) vessels.

Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, recently introduced a new series of large offshore cranes. The new series include cranes with lifting capacities ranging up to 900mt and have been developed to meet the increasing demands of the offshore construction and subsea market. Multiple unique features have been incorporated in the design, which makes these sophisticated cranes suitable for operations in ultra-deep water but also in harsh marine environments. Two orders for the new cranes have been received already.

Huisman’s 5000mt Offshore Mast Crane aboard of Subsea 7’s flagship and strategic enabler ‘Seven Borealis’ has been nominated for the Innovation of the Year Award. The award winner will be revealed during the Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference on 19-20 February in London. The conference advisory panel has shortlisted Huisman for its Offshore Mast Crane and voting for the award is open until 25 January.

On 15 December Huisman China, a 100% subsidiary of the Dutch specialist in Lifting, Drilling and Subsea solutions, completed the installation of a 2400mt SWL quayside crane at their Zhangzhou (Fujian) fabrication yard. This event is an important milestone in the development of the Huisman China yard that was founded in 2007, and currently employs a staff of 850. Located in Xiamen port it has direct deepwater access to the Taiwan Strait, and is therefore well suited for loading and installations of heavy steel constructions on large (offshore) vessels.

Schiedam, 9 November 2012: Huisman, the specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, won the Maritime Innovation Award yesterday for their Dual Multi Purpose Tower. The awards were handed out during the Martime Awards Gala in Rotterdam. Besides Huisman, the Greenforce Ball Joint of Vosta LMG, the Ship Energy Management System of Imtech Marine Netherlands and the Pipe Shop of Kranendonk Production Systems were nominated. During the Maritime Awards Gala the VSNI Wim Timmerprize, the KNVR Shipping Award and the KNVT Ship of the Year award were also handed out.

Schiedam, 5 April 2012: Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has secured new contracts with Technip, a world leader in project management, engineering and construction for the energy industry, for a 500mt Yard Crane and a 150mt Flexlay System. Both the crane and the pipelay system will be designed and constructed by the Huisman facilities in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. Previously, Huisman delivered the installation equipment onboard Technip’s flagship deepwater pipelay and subsea construction vessel, “Deep Blue”.

Schiedam, 15 March 2012 - Huisman, the specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has secured a new contract from Allseas for the design and manufacturing of an 850mt Offshore Mast Crane. The crane will replace the current 300mt Offshore Mast Crane onboard Allseas’ pipelaying vessel “Solitaire”. The delivery is scheduled for 1 October 2012 at the Huisman production facility in Fujian, China.

Huisman, the specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, successfully delivered the 600mt Wind Turbine Installation Crane onboard GeoSea’s DP2 jack-up vessel “Neptune”. The crane was handed over to the builder of the vessel IHC Offshore and Marine BV, part of IHC Merwede, who subcontracted the crane to Huisman in 2010.

Last week, Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, successfully completed the installation and load testing of a Huisman designed and built 17m super fly jib for one of the Heavy Lift Mast Cranes onboard BigLift Shipping’s “Happy Buccaneer”. The super fly jib increases the lifting height and outreach of the crane by 50% to respectively 59m above deck and 55m radius.

Huisman, the specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has secured a new contract with Subsea 7 to supply and install a 550mt Flex-lay system and a 400mt Offshore Mast Crane onboard their newest vessel. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for 2014, installation will take place at Huisman Schiedam, The Netherlands. The vessel will be built by the IHC Offshore & Marine Shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, also in The Netherlands.
