/ Inclined Fall Pipe

Shallow‑water rock installation often presents the toughest operational challenges: limited manoeuvring space, strict safety margins around offshore structures, and the need for highly accurate placement of filter and armour layers. The Huisman Inclined Fall Pipe (IFP) is designed to solve precisely these challenges, giving operators more control, greater flexibility and safer working conditions during near‑structure operations.

By enabling precise rock installation directly alongside monopiles, jackets and other offshore foundations, the Inclined Fall Pipe allows you to work exactly where traditional fall pipe systems cannot. The system’s mechanised pipe‑length adjustment, telescopic section and integrated motion‑compensation technology ensure you can operate in higher sea states, reduce offshore risks and maintain consistent rock‑placement accuracy, all while improving project efficiency and predictability.

Mitigate shallow water risks

Mitigate shallow water risks

Mechanised pipe-length adjustment reduces offshore lifting operations near subsea structures, improving safety in shallow, space restricted environments.

Rapid installation close to structures

Minimal stick out enables operations immediately adjacent to monopiles and jackets, significantly reducing cycle times in congested offshore areas.

Higher accuracy in challenging sea states

Motion compensation stabilises the pipe tip, ensuring precise rock placement and extended workability windows.

/ features

Specifically designed for rock installation operations in shallow water. Ideal for installing filter and armour layers for offshore foundations, and also capable of performing cable burial work. The minimal stick‑out allows the vessel to operate close to offshore structures, even in very shallow water depths.

Deck cradles with a mechanised system allow adjustment of the fallpipe length with minimal manual labour or cranage, even in mild offshore conditions. The telescopic pipe section provides additional flexibility by enabling pipe length adjustment during installation. The system can be integrated into newbuild vessels or retrofitted on existing vessels.

The motion compensation system significantly reduces the effect of vessel movement at the pipe end. This allows operations in higher sea states, increases installation accuracy and reduces material overspread, improving efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
