Huisman Flex-Lay System successfully utilised on cable-lay works for floating wind turbine in China

Huisman has announced that its 325mt Flex-Lay System onboard Hai Yang Shi You 286 has successfully installed 5 kilometres of subsea power cable, which connects the Haiyou Guanlan floating wind turbine to the Wenchang oilfield’s grid off the coast of China. This grid connection marks the realisation of the first deep-sea floating wind energy platform in China. The cable-lay scope was carried out by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). GNOOC is one of the largest national oil companies in China.
