/ Vertical Fall Pipe

Deep water rock installation requires technology that delivers accuracy, safety and consistency, regardless of water depth or sea state. The Huisman Vertical Fall Pipe (VFP) is built to help you achieve high precision seabed preparation, rock berm construction and cable protection from mid water to ultra deep water conditions.

The Vertical Fall Pipe is designed to reduce operational risk and increase productivity by automating most of the pipe building process, allowing work to continue without personnel in hazardous areas. Its ability to handle multiple pipe diameters enables the installation of both larger rock in shallow water and smaller rock at maximum water depth, giving you full flexibility for varying seabed conditions and project requirements.

At the heart of the system is the Fall Pipe Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV), suspended on three heave compensated umbilical wires. This ensures the ROV maintains a stable distance from the seabed, enabling highly accurate rock placement, as well as precise pre  and post installation seabed surveys. The combination of proven mechanics and advanced automation provides a dependable, future proof solution for deep water rock installation projects where accuracy, cycle time reduction and operational safety are critical.

Enhance deep-water safety

Enhance deep-water safety

Automation removes personnel from hazardous areas during pipe construction, significantly reducing safety risks during complex offshore operations.

Faster, predictable pipe building cycles

Faster, predictable pipe building cycles

Automated pipe building ensures consistent, repeatable assembly rates, shortening offshore cycles and improving vessel productivity.

Precision placement at any depth

Precision placement at any depth

Heave compensated ROV control maintains a stable seabed distance, enabling highly accurate rock installation even in challenging deep water conditions.

/ features

The Fall Pipe Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) is suspended on three heave compensated umbilical wires, allowing it to maintain a stable distance from the seabed. This ensures accurate rock placement and reliable pre  and post installation seabed surveys.

The automation system enables most operations to be executed without personnel in the working area. This reduces exposure to moving equipment and enhances overall safety.

The ability to carry different pipe diameters allows the system to operate in shallow water with large diameter pipes for bigger rock, while smaller diameter pipes enable accurate installation at maximum water depth.
