Rope Vision is the smart technological tooling that makes visual inspection of wire ropes easy. It collects condition data which is then analysed by a specialised Huisman expert. By combining the data from Rope Vision with usage data from the crane controls, it is possible to predict the remaining wire rope lifetime and necessary maintenance scheduling.
Performance Insights data
Rope Vision provides findings on the condition data of the wire rope. When paired with Performance Insights it also provides usage information such as the use of design duty per wire rope position, use of design duty per layer and the working hours per layer. Based on the usage information and the condition of the wire rope, a severity rating is determined. This combination gives a complete view of the wear and tear of the wire rope. Which in turn, makes it possible to anticipate maintenance needs and extend the remaining lifespan of your wire ropes. For a comprehensive 360º precision view of the wire rope, Rope Vision uses high-resolution cameras with fast scanning speed to capture every detail in real-time. Every scanned image is part of the data that is processed and analysed, by specially engineered software, to detect indications of wear or damage. This precision gives a complete perspective and better understanding of the wire rope’s condition.
Part of what makes Rope Vision unique is the ability to use the collected data to predict remaining wire rope lifecycle. Every wire rope inspected on-site is given a severity rating based on the number of detected indications and anomalies. A specialised engineer, certified by Huisman, reviews and determines the rating for final recommendations on maintenance and replacements. The severity rating is based on ISO 4309 standards.
