Huisman offers a fully Integrated Cable-Lay System engineered for safe, efficient and reliable offshore cable lay operations. Its integrated design delivers balanced vessel endurance while keeping both vessel and cable-lay equipment future proof for evolving cable and cable-protection system (CPS) requirements.

 

Dedicated cable‑lay vessels often provide faster, safer and more cost‑efficient offshore performance. To achieve the optimal vessel design, Huisman partners with leading vessel design institutes to create the right balance between vessel layout and cable‑lay equipment. 

 

We supply complete equipment packages for inter‑array, interconnector and export cable installation, and can serve as system integrator to deliver a unified, high‑performance cable‑lay solution using both Huisman and trusted third‑party technology.

  • Minimal exposed tensioned wires allow personnel to work safely in most areas during deployment and recovery operations. 
  • CPS handling and logistics require minimal hoisting operations, significantly increasing safety for personnel handling CPS parts.

  • A layered layout enables a compact vessel design while maintaining balanced storage capacity for cable and CPS, sufficient for a complete wind farm.

Integrated design

Integration with the vessel enhances DP functions specific to cable‑lay, with the DP system tightly connected to both the cable‑lay system and its software.

  • Flexibility in CPS length and type is provided by a long CPS assembly line and free space on the first‑ and second‑end firing lines. 
  • The system is prepared to accommodate future increases in cable and CPS diameters.
